1. To SHUT the door and RUN the fan in the ceiling?
2. To leave the

door OPEN and NOT run the fan?

Its a master bath set-up with

Light a match and blow it out and see if the smoke goes out the vent like

Technically, you should open the door & run the fan. Start the

fan while you are showering & then let it go for awhile after ur done. Wet

If not, take the cover off, clean it & the fan inside. Check for air

sucking again. If none, ur hose is plugged somewhere. That would need to  
be cleaned out/replaced. If it vents on the side of the house, look inside
